From insight through to execution, we can help you turn ideas about philanthropic giving into tangible outcomes. As one of Australia’s largest community foundations, we are a gateway to accessing specialised, straightforward information and advice to ensure you achieve your philanthropic goals.

How can we help?

Built over many years, ACF has considerable knowledge and practical experience around grantmaking, effective philanthropy and the design and development of philanthropic structures and operations.

We are able to review and evaluate philanthropic programs and operations and undertake feasibility studies for prospective philanthropic initiatives, including the establishment and development of new trusts and foundations.

We are skilled grantmakers and we research, analyse and recommend funding for many charitable projects locally, nationally and internationally. Our research and consulting covers a broad range of client interests, from the arts, education, youth and the aged, to community development, the environment and Indigenous issues.

Our core services

We can move philanthropic ideas from conception to reality by undertaking activities which include examining the feasibility of philanthropic initiatives, exploring structural options, developing strategic objectives, undertaking philanthropic administration and providing operational support for public ancillary funds or trust funds.
Drawing on our extensive knowledge base and network, we can assist you to explore philanthropic structures and the associated legal, regulatory and governance issues. We have a strong track record of providing practical, tailored governance training to boards, undertaking philanthropy skills audits and assisting with succession planning.
To genuinely be useful, grantmaking advice must be tailored to meet the needs of the specific stakeholders involved. We are experts in supporting donors and grantmaking organisations to achieve their philanthropic goals by developing effective grantmaking programs, providing high impact grantmaking advice, undertaking grant research, performing due diligence and reviewing program effectiveness.
We provide tactical guidance to grow funds under management by running board workshops on ‘how to ask’ and assisting to identify and develop sustainable funding sources.
