Establishing a scholarship is a great way to support current and future student leaders!
Supporting education and ensuring it is accessible is important to many of ACF’s donors. One of the most popular ways to provide an ongoing bursary is by establishing a scholarship fund.
At ACF, you can create a scholarship that will provide educational payments, prizes and bursaries which can award financial support or educational equipment to the recipient. ACF’s Trust Fund is endorsed with Item 1 Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status and donations are tax deductible.
To provide a tax deductible scholarship, the following Australian Taxation Office criteria must be met:
- recipients must be Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia
- the scholarship, bursary or prize must be open to at least an entire state or territory of Australia or to a region of at least 200,000 people
- the scholarship, bursary or prize must promote the recipient’s education in either or both of the following: a pre-school, primary, secondary or tertiary course, an overseas educational institution, by way of study of a component of a pre-school, primary, secondary or tertiary course
- the scholarship, bursary or prize is awarded on merit or for reasons of equity.
